In situ NMR spectroscopy in heterogeneous catalysis
New experimental techniques of in situ MAS NMR spectroscopy introduced in the past decade made this analytical method to a useful tool for the study of heterogeneously catalyzed reactions. Batch and flow techniques were applied to study reactions catalyzed by basic and acidic solids. The present review introduces into in situ MAS NMR investigations of transition states, e.g., via the H/D exchan...
متن کاملP-NMR Spectroscopy of Roots of Intact Corn Seedlings.
The application of (31)P nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy to the study of metabolism in roots of intact corn seedlings is described. (31)P-NMR spectra of developmentally distinct parts of primary roots of whole seedlings are presented. The spectra are of quality comparable to those of excised pieces of plant tissue.
متن کاملMagnetic Relaxation in Dynamically Heterogeneous Systems
Nuclear magnetic spin-lattice relaxation in dynamically heterogeneous systems is generally coupled; that is, the rapidly moving liquid components do not relax independently of the rotationally immobilized or solid components. The consequences of this coupling are that the generally observable relaxation rates of the liquid components may not be interpreted using the standard theories of liquid ...
متن کاملOptimal load sharing in dynamically heterogeneous systems
Heterogeneity of processor speed and time availability is introduced to the paradigm of load sharing among a number of autonomous and independently scheduled heterogeneous computers that communicate via a message-passing interconnection system. A divisible job originating at one of the system sites is to be partitioned and executed concurrently on a suite of selected processors, to the extent o...
متن کاملSpatial localization in NMR spectroscopy in vivo.
Spatial localization techniques are necessary for in vivo NMR spectroscopy involving heterogeneous organisms. Localization by surface coil NMR detection alone is generally inadequate for deep-lying organs due to contaminating signals from intervening surface tissues. However, localization to preselected planar volumes can be accomplished using a single selective excitation pulse in the presence...
